Session summary

The start of the new year was considered a year of change for Prince Falckeauge, who was getting irritated about the fact that Ostend had a bad reputation in Brussels. Because he got a very influential guest this month, he chose the Provincial Museum for Modern Artworks as the place to be. Viktor Goebs, Prince of Bruges and curator of the PMMK, instructed his Clan member Alyss Symphora to be the hostess of the gathering in his stead. Everything that happened during the night was not only the responsibility of the Keeper but also hers. This fact made the beautiful Toreador very jumpy. Together with Jozef Boddaert, Alyss welcomed the guests properly and lectured a few new faces about the etiquette and how to behave in Elysia.

When Prince Falckeauge arrived, he was announced by the Keeper and greeted with respect by all the present Kindred. It was noticeable that everyone was nervous because of the visit of the Mechlian Prince, Maximiliaan van Havre. Jan Van Haaren, an Ancilla of Clan Tremere who hailed from The Netherlands, was one of the new faces in Ostend. He had informed the Keeper about his visit a few weeks earlier and was aware of the visit of the Mechlian Prince. Mr. Van Haaren gave the impression to be a well educated member of the Kindred society. There was also an independent guest from Ghent, the red-haired Setite Layla Meskanetha who clearly had to have some business in this coastal town.

Before Prince van Havre arrived, his trusted Keeper Jelena entered the museum in the company of an unknown face. The stranger presented himself as Silvain De Musset, Ancilla of Clan Toreador. It was hilarious to see the Ostendian Keeper bootlicking Jelena, while everyone knew he hated her for betraying him to the Mechlian Prince six months earlier. When the Nosferatu Prince finally arrived together with his secretary, a Nosferatu Neonate named Goddelieve Vinck, he was announced too and everyone kneeled before him. The Mechlian Prince was warmly welcomed by Prince Falckeauge who got …. a more private …. formal conversation with his guest. The Mechlian delegation mingled with the other Kindred present. While Chevalier de-Fleur-de-Lys had a conversation with the Mechlian Toreador, Goddelieve Vinck was trying to have a few words with her fellow Clan member, Shelly Lampaert. Jelena was smiling the whole evening, proud about the fact that she could show her Prince to the Ostendian Kindred.

It became clear that the Mechlian prince wanted to discuss more than a few things with the Court of Ostend. The Mechlian Prince was curious to learn more about the whereabouts of Katrien. After not hearing a single word from the Elder Nosferatu for about half a year, Prince van Havre wanted to know what happened to her. The conversation of the 2 Princes was disturbed when there was a breach of the masquerade reported. News circulated that someone had run up the A10 highway while using celerity. The breacher was identified as the bloodhunted Brujah Stefan Van Poucke. Shelly Lampaert, notified of the breach by Deputee Desmond Rockwell assembled Ace and his companion, a Brujah neonate called Chris, to track Van Poucke since they had already made it their personal quest. Surprisingly they got help from the foggy-minded Keeran. The fledgling used his power over birds to sent them out to find the exact location of their nemesis. They left the museum to set pursuit to the Anarch. In the mean time, Herr Falckeauge presented Desmond Rockwell as the new Sheriff of Ostend, since Sheriff Sergei Zhivanesko hadn’t been heard of for quite some time and even rumored to be dead. The Nosferatu had given a good impression and everyone attending the meeting knew that Desmond would do everything what was necessary to uphold the laws of the Camarilla. Not much later, the Mechlian Prince assembled all present Nosferatu and held a private meeting .

After some talking and mingling, another announcement was made by Monseigneur van Havre, who had brought a special gift for the Ostendian Community. When the Mechlian Prince wanted to start his speech he noticed that Zorgamel, a Malkavian Neonate showed his back to him instead of standing up and facing him like all the rest. The Prince made a comment about his behaviour and demanded the Malkavian to stand up and show some respect. Zorgamel stood up whilst mocking both Princes. Because Herr Falckeauge lost his prestige by Zorgamel’s action, he banished the troublemaker from Ostend. He also demanded that Zorgamel would give a boon to the Prince of Mechelen. With a clearly disgruntled face, Zorgamel left the PMMK.

Without further ado, Prince Van Havre unveiled his gift. The gift of the Nosferatu Prince was a breathtaking paintwork that the older residents of Ostend recognised as a paintwork that was thought destroyed during the bombing of the Casino-Kursaal in the Second World War. The same fire that made an end to the reign of Théodore de Montagnard, Toreador and former Prince of Ostend. On the painting, Prince Falckeauge recognised Jennifer de Crystallin, Childe of Théodore and the few Kindred who watched the artwork while using auspex saw a 3D version of the painting where Jennifer was crying tears of blood. The Ostendian Prince was very grateful for this gift and everyone was looking in awe to the painting. When Prince Falckeauge handed it over to miss Symphora to give it a place among the other artworks, she was afraid to touch it because she didn’t want to damage this precious item. In the end Ludovicus gave the paintwork its rightful place in the museum.

When Mr. Boddaert passed Keeran, the Keeper asked if he already had a conversation with the Prince of the domain. Because the fledgling still was unacknowledged and without a safe place, he introduced him to the Tremere Prince. It was easy to see that Keeran missed proper education when he tried to shake the Prince’s hand instead of kneeling before him. The Keeper helped the young Gangrel and he was ordered to bring Keeran to Graham Chaps, Clanhead of Clan Gangrel, who was from now on responsible for the fledgling. A day later the Prince would have a conversation with both Chaps and Keeran. Graham interrogated the young Keeran and made more than a few notes in his notebook. From then on the fledgling stayed on his new mentor’s side.

The backdoor of the PMMK opened and Ace and Chris came in with an unconscious figure. A second look on the man revealed that he was stabbed with a bowie knife. The figure was held in a backroom and the Brujahs sent for the Prince. After an initial inspection of Prince Falckeauge, the figure was brought before the throne of both princes and Ace explained that this was the bloodhunted Stefan Van Poucke. Herr Falckeauge asked the Mechlian Prince if he would give the final blow to Van Poucke, but before Monseigneur van Havre could answer, the newly appointed Sheriff Desmond decapitated the hated Brujah. Prince van Havre said nothing about the fact but in the eyes of the Keeper of Elysium, fear and unbelief was clearly visible. By order of the Ostendian Prince, the Brujah was killed in an Elysium, a place that was supposed to be a sanctuary for everyone. Not only all Ostendians were eye witnesses of this breach of Elysium, but also a Prince of a foreign domain. The Keeper said nothing, but it was clear he did not like the whole situation. Prince Maximiliaan van Havre credited both Brujah for capturing the HIV-infected Anarch and gave both a minor boon. When Ace told the Prince that they got help from Keeran as well, the Prince coldly said that there were 2 boons and that they had to decide who earned them. In the end the two Brujah decided to keep their boons.

Jozef Boddaert also had a more private conversation with Melanie Verbert. Wisely the Malkavian had left her ghoul Kitt at home, not wanting to bring shame upon herself by bringing her disloyal ghoul to this important gathering. When he finished his conversation with miss Verbert, the Keeper was demanded by the Mechlian Prince to ask the attention of all Kindred. In front of everyone Prince van Havre demanded Jelena to come forward and bow for him. When the proud Mechlian Keeper was promoted to Seneschal of Mechelen all eyes quickly flashed to the ex-seneschal Jozef Boddaert. Mr. Boddaert tried to hide his anger and smiled, but everyone knew this was a façade. After the promotion of Jelena, Prince Falckeauge made an end to the gathering and everyone was asked to go home while he still had a few things to discuss with the Mechlian Prince.
